Re-cyclers Organisation Ltd is a professional company which specialises in WEEE (Waste Electronic and Electrical Equipment). In 2006 the WEEE directive came into force in England and Wales; this legislation requires waste producers to dispose of electrical and electronic equipment safely and responsibly by law. Re-cyclers Organisation Ltd hold a waste licence which entitles it to accept and carry all waste relating to WEEE.
Waste and the Law
All companies throughout England and Wales are bound by the ‘Duty of Care Legislation.’ In summary this means that you must take all reasonable steps to keep waste safe. If you give waste to someone else, you must be sure they are authorised to take it and can transport, recycle or dispose of it safely. If you break this law you can be fined an unlimited amount. For more information please click here.
In order to satisfy legal requirements, a waste transfer notice is required to be produced whenever trade waste is transferred from a business to a registered waste carrier or waste disposal operator. Re-cyclers will provide you with a Waste Transfer Notice (WTN) which you will need to keep for 2 years after releasing the item.
